Thu, 16 October 2008 Ah, my apologies loyal GGP fans. Cam and I have slacked off of late. No new shows since July and I'm sure a lot of people have probably unsubscribed us from their iTunes list by now, thinking that we're dead and gone. But you know, like Cthulhu, Godzilla's always out there! It's true we have slowed down and I think that's sort of inevitable with many podcasts. Lots of shows that were running when we got started have also faded or disappeared since then. But we are still here and we haven't called it a day yet, but I can't blame anyone for thinking that we might have given our recent silence. I have to admit it's hard to do the shows when there is so much physical distance separating Cam and I. It's almost been two years since I left Japan and I think the fact that we even managed to keep it going and do as many shows as we have after I left is something of a miracle. The GGP has been around since January of '06 and I don't think we're done yet. I'm talking to Cam about recording a new show, hopefully at the end of October. With two months since the last show, we've got a lot of gaming to talk about! So, for you loyal fans still with us, what can I say but thank you for your continued support! No matter how long we manage to keep the show going, having everyone on board for the ride has been the best part of the whole thing! Thanks! Category: podcasts -- posted at: 2:48 AM Comments[40] |
Tue, 1 July 2008 Ah, better late than never. I'm sorry about the wait. Just life getting in the way as usual. But we've got the show up now and we're discussing the next one! Here's the link to Chris Harper's game report. Sounds like it was a fun game! I have good memories of Star Frontiers myself! I'm working on a session report of my Godlike campaign which kicked off a couple weeks ago and was about as intense as I had hoped. And hopefully we can persuade Cam to do some more reports on his new Unknown Armies game. I can't wait to hear about it! Finally, we'd love to hear about your first experience as a GM! What happened and why? What rocked and what sucked? Tell us all about it! godzilla.gaming@gmail.com Comments[28] |
Tue, 22 April 2008 After a bit of technical frustration, Cam and I have managed to get this show out as scheduled, yay! This is it, our Planescape special featuring Monte Cook! We put this one together as a retro-review and interview together, and as such, it's long, about an hour and a half. But I'm not apologizing for the length because it's chock-full of good stuff! At the end though, I did decide to cut the listener feedback segment, not because we don't want to hear what you have to say (We do! We do!) but because it would have pushed the show up near the 2-hour range. We'll bring it back next month for sure though! We do love and appreciate your feedback! Sat, 19 April 2008 I hate to say this but the file for one of the main segments of the show we recorded last Sunday was corrupted and rendered useless. After tearing my hair out for three hours trying to recover the file, I finally had to admit defeat. So, Cam and I are going to have to re-record it. If we can't do it this coming Sunday, it may be another week or two before our schedules merge again. I'm not happy at all to have to face another delay, especially with this particular episode. At any rate, we both really want to get this episode out because it's all about one of our favorite RPG products - Planescape! We've got one of our famous retro-reviews of the setting, and a very special interview with Monte Cook, one of the contributors to the setting. So please, I must beg everybody's patience as we re-record the lost segment. We've got some great material and we've just got to share it with you! We WILL get the whole show out to you as soon as possible! Category: podcasts -- posted at: 3:48 AM Comments[20] |
Thu, 17 April 2008 Cam and I have recorded our latest show, which I think turned out to be a really good one! I should probably have it cut and edited together by next Wednesday. Stay tuned! Category: podcasts -- posted at: 12:57 PM Comments[13] |
Tue, 18 March 2008 "The unexamined life is not worth living." - Somebody-or-Other Or so they say (whoever "they" are). Hah! Well, here's Show 3.2 and better late than never, and we don't mean to make this a habit. Sorry for the delay but Cam's schedule had to be served (and bills got to be paid so I'm sure y'all understand). Anyway, this month we're taking a closer look at what's working for us at the table, and you should do so too! What's been working for you to create Awesome at your gaming table? Let us know! The review of Unhallowed Metropolis I mentioned in the show can be found here. I wasn't super impressed but I wasn't totally unfavorable either. In short, nice setting, bland system. Keep sending us your feedback and ideas for show topics, "Pimp My Campaign" segments, or whatever else turns your crank! See you next month! Comments[13] |
Sat, 1 March 2008 Just so you're not worried that we're going away again, Cam and I are recording our next show on March 9. We'd planned to do it on February 24 and then March 2, but Cam has unfortunately had to postpone for work related reasons. Please keep in mind that Cam's in Tokyo and I'm in San Francisco and there's a 17-hour difference, meaning that when I hit "record" at 6pm Sunday night, it's 11am on Monday for Cam, and he goes to work after we record. Anyway, we're not going away again and not taking a break. It's just real-life intruding (as it often does). So, recording on the 9th and the new show should be up within a week after that! See you soon! Category: podcasts -- posted at: 5:21 PM Comments[14] |
Sun, 3 February 2008 The GGP is two years old! So, we're celebrating our birthday with our first show of the year! To kick things off, we have an interview (21:27) with Shane Ivey of Arc Dream Publishing. Shane tells us about his experience with Godlike, Arc Dream's "Ransom" method of financing their production, and their newest game, Monsters and Other Childish Things. Plus listener feedback (03:05), What We're Playing (09:48), and our first shot at pimping someone's campaign (41:13)! As always, please send us your comments, here, or at godzilla.gaming@gmail.com Akemashite omedetou gozaimasu! (Happy New Year!) Bolt Thrower!! ;-) Comments[146] |
Sat, 26 January 2008 Thanks for the warm welcome back everyone! The last show was a lot of fun and Cam and I felt the groove once again! We're recording our next show this weekend, and we have a special guest joining us for a short interview. I should have it edited and posted about a week after that. Hope you7ll join us then! Sun, 23 December 2007 Godzilla Never Dies!!We're back and ready to roll! It's been a few months, but Cam and I have re-tooled the show. Nothing too drastic and you'll still get all the great stuff you know and love from good ol' Big G. This month sees the kick-off of our new "Gaming J-Land" segment, in which we try to show some ways to bring the Land of the Rising Sun into your game; in this case, Japanese horror. Ju-On (English title: The Grudge) is easily my favorite J-freak out (well, not counting Shinjuku station or the Saikyo line on Friday night). What's yours? And do let us know what you think of this segment. We won't do it every show, but if you have an idea for some sort of J-topic you'd like to see us address, do let us know! And we're going to take a shot at the "Pimp My Campaign" idea. If you'd like us to chew over an idea of yours for a campaign, or you've got a campaign in progress and you'd like some feedback, drop us a line (though do try to keep it short - no 50-page setting bibles please!) So, if you're still listening, thanks again! The Godzilla Gaming Podcast is back for another year! Comments[19] |
